Dununs, or djun-djuns, are wonderful sounding drums that are usually played in sets of three. They are played with a stick and have a great bass tone. They are made of Tweneboa hardwood and have high quality cowskin heads. Great as an accompaniment to djembes, these big drums are as fun as it gets! Our Dunun set includes the traditional three drums, a collapsible drum stand, two wooden sticks and one iron banana bell that traditionally sits on top. The small drum (kenkeni) has a 10" head. The medium drum (sangban) has a 12" head and the large drum (dununba) has a 14" head.

Our Kpanlogo drums are beautiful, professionally made, traditional drums from Ghana, West Africa. They are hand-carved out of a solid piece of wood, and strung with antelope skin heads. The drums are easily tuned by tapping a mallet on the pegs to tighten the skin. These drums came on the "scene" when Ghana gained independence from the British in 1957. A much softer sound than a djembe, they are the true African conga and a joy to play! The wood is sustainably harvested Tweneboa and the carvings are magnificent! Designs vary.
