These instruments are addictive! They are known as "the welcome instrument" in Ghana, played by the hosts when one is invited to a village. They are played in one hand and the small gourd balls with seeds inside klack against each other in rhythm as your hand flips from one side to the other. Amazing fun!

Our woven straw rattles come to us from a small rural village in northern Ghana. The rattles are filled with small pebbles and woven with colorful straw. We offer two styles of rattles. One has a gourd bottom attached (as pictured above), and the other is woven straw all the way around. Each rattle produces a slightly different sound. Both are easy to play and fun for all ages!

The Large Double Bell is hand-forged iron and packs a solid sound. Loud and ringing, for those who really want to be heard! A wonderful addition to all percussion settings.
